The Dissolvine® Q line contains microgranular iron chelates. It is developed for the correction and prevention of iron deficiency in a wide range of agricultural and horticultural crops, especially in alkaline and calcareous soils.

Dissolvine Q products give the best effect when applied dissolved to the plants through the soil or rooting media. The number in the product name reflects the so-called 'ortho-ortho' level which is a measurement for quality and a label requirement in the European Union. Scientific research has proven that the ortho-ortho isomer is the only isomer which performs in soils, in particular calcareous soils.

Another isomer that can be included on labels in the European Union, the ortho-para isomer, is much less stable and will immediately drop its iron in almost all soils, except very sandy soils or in hydroponic circumstances (cultures on inert substrates). AkzoNobel uses the official CEN methods to express the ortho-ortho (and if applicable also the ortho-para) levels on their product labels.

The Dissolvine Q line contains 60 (or in one case 70) grams of chelated iron per kg of product. EDDHA is an abbreviation of ethylenediamine-N,N'-bis (2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid). This 'bis-2' reflects the ortho-ortho isomer. The table below shows the available products. AkzoNobel has the widest range of Fe EDDHA and Fe HBED products in the world.
